Blepharoplasty is usually performed in the following steps:
Step 1: Local anesthesia is administered. In cases where other surgeries may be performed along with blepharoplasty, general anesthesia is administered.
Step 2: If the surgery is to be performed on both eyelids, the surgeon usually works on the upper lids first. He makes incisions along the fold of the eyelid and removes the excess skin and muscle. The surgeon may also either remove excess fat or redistribute it.
Step 3: The surgeon then closes the incision.

After the surgery, the patient will be monitored for a few hours to ensure that no complications will occur. They will be able to go home later that day.
The patient may suffer from some bruising, swelling, and redness after the procedure. This is perfectly normal and will fade away within a few days. The surgeon may also prescribe ointment, antibiotics, and painkillers to the patient.
For at least 48 hours after the procedure, cold packs must be applied to the eyes. The surgeon may even ask the patient to apply warm compresses for the first 48 to 72 hours after the surgery. Dry eyes
Temporary inability to completely close the eyelids
Infection
Visible scarring
Double vision
Possible vision loss from retrobulbar hemorrhage
Wrongly positioned eyelids
Numbness
Overcorrection (removing too much skin)
